Principal

Welcome to Sojourner Elementary School! I am Nabil Zerizef, also known as Mr.Z, and I am honored to serve as the school principal. We have a unique school with two separate schools both operating in the same building which is why at times you may hear the school called Linwood & Sojourner, and I am the principal at both schools. 

Sojourner Elementary School is a magnet school which is centered around “Multiple Intelligences” as an educational model which was developed by Harvard professor, Howard Gardner. In his work,  Gardner identified eight different types of intelligences: linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic. We are committed to fostering a culture where students become confident, self-directed learners who are prepared for success in the 21st century.

We also know that success goes beyond academic achievement. At Sojourner Elementary, we also place a strong emphasis on building community and fostering social-emotional development. We believe that a strong sense of belonging and connection is essential to student success, and we work hard to create a school culture that is welcoming, inclusive, and supportive of all students and families.

Together, we can create a bright future for our students, and I am excited to work with our students, families, and staff to make this vision a reality. We are happy to have you at Sojourner Elementary School, and I look forward to a successful school year.
